Trusted Colleagues
This page highlights a few of those colleagues whom I hold in the highest regard. Each brings their own unique blend of skill, insight, and heart to their work.
Luis Fernando
Luis and I have worked side by side for over 15 years—and I still consider him one of my most trusted collaborators. We continue to partner together with our one legacy client, where his presence brings both excellence and steadiness to everything we do.
Luis is a talented powerhouse. Behind the scenes, he’s a technological genius who makes every presentation run smoothly. Beyond that, he brings heart, insight, and a deep commitment to servant leadership. It’s been an honor to mentor Luis over the years—and a joy to watch him grow into a gifted consultant in his own right.
Matthew Kosec
I first met Matt through my late business partner, Ann McGee-Cooper—and I’m so glad our paths crossed. Since then, we’ve become learning partners, sharing ideas, laughter, and the occasional lunch.
Matt brings humor, depth, and clarity to his work. He knows how to engage diverse audiences and help organizations grow from the inside out. I’ve had the privilege of watching his consulting business evolve and thrive, and I’m proud to have made a few introductions along the way. He’s a trusted colleague and someone I admire deeply in this work.
Mike Blevins
Mike Blevins has been a friend and professional colleague for more than three decades, and our work together has been both meaningful and energizing. Prior to his retirement in 2010, Mike served as COO of Luminant, the power subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings, where he partnered with our firm to bring servant leadership into the heart of the power generation industry—setting records and earning numerous awards along the way.
What I value most about Mike is his curiosity and commitment to what’s next. Even in retirement, we continue to collaborate, explore new ideas, and imagine the next generation of leadership development together. He brings wisdom, practicality, and a genuine love of learning to every conversation, and I’m grateful for our ongoing partnership and friendship.
Carol Haddock
Carol came into my life more than 25 years ago, and from the very beginning she has been a steady, trusted presence. Over the years, she worked alongside me in many different capacities at both AMCA and TMCA, always bringing care, precision, and deep loyalty to everything she touched.
Even in her official retirement, Carol continues to support me with financial bookkeeping and administrative work—quietly making things run smoothly behind the scenes. More than that, she has been a constant encourager of my work and a dear friend. Carol will always be family to Steven and me, and I’m profoundly grateful for her presence in our lives.
Christa Williams
When people ask me where to turn for the best in servant leadership curriculum and facilitation, I send them straight to Christa. Her depth, warmth, and wisdom show up not only in what she teaches, but how she lives.
Over the years, I’ve watched Christa build thoughtful materials and guide countless leaders with grace and purpose. Her organization even honored me with a lifetime achievement award, one of the most meaningful recognitions of my career. I consider her a treasured colleague and one of the finest voices in this work.
Ginny Gilmore
Ginny and I first met at a servant leadership conference more than two decades ago, but it was about ten years ago that our friendship truly deepened and meaningful collaborations were born. We became devoted learning partners—sharing books, ideas, and conversations that invited us deeper into leadership, community, and spirituality, always guided by the wisdom of the heart.
In 2020, we co-authored Wisdom from the Woods, a “book within a book” that I had the joy of helping Ginny bring into the world. Together, we led seminars rooted in its themes, exploring how to navigate life’s unexpected changes with grace and courage. Ginny remains a treasured resource, a trusted study partner, and a dear friend whose presence continues to enrich my life and work.
Deborah Welch
Deborah taught me the power of distance learning long before remote work became commonplace. Through our Virtual Servant Leadership Learning Community, she helped me see what was possible when meaningful connection and deep learning are thoughtfully designed across distance. When COVID arrived, I already had a trusted model to help us gracefully transition our in-person work into rich, Zoom-based learning.
Deborah also brings a deep passion for dream work and contributed a chapter to Wisdom from the Woods that profoundly influenced my own successful exploration in that area. At her core, she is devoted to bringing people together in dialogue, grounded in her belief in “strength through difference.” Deborah has a remarkable gift for teaching the art of listening—helping individuals and communities hear one another more fully, and in doing so, discover shared wisdom and deeper connection

Awaken Your Sleeping Genius
Many people move through life believing genius belongs to a rare few—when in reality, it often lies dormant, unnoticed, or discouraged. In Awaken Your Sleeping Genius, Ann McGee-Cooper challenges narrow definitions of intelligence and invites readers to rediscover their natural gifts, creativity, and capacity for meaningful contribution. Blending research, personal story, and decades of work with gifted adults and servant leaders, this book reframes genius as something to be awakened through curiosity, courage, and self-awareness. A powerful invitation to stop conforming to who you were told to be—and start becoming who you actually are.
